Training Program Manager

Solar PV and BESS O&M Technician Training Program

Amicus O&M Cooperative is a community of 50+ member-companies that deliver solar and BESS O&M field services to residential, commercial, and utility-scale systems across North America. To support our members, we are developing a comprehensive training program for solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations and maintenance (O&M) technicians, in accordance with the SEIA 301 ANSI Standard. We seek an experienced O&M Training Program Manager to lead the development and implementation of this critical workforce development initiative and support our member-companies as a technical resource.

Position Overview

Our ideal Training Program Manager would bring a combination of technical expertise in solar PV and BESS O&M, project management chops, and training experience. This person will manage the curriculum team, provide subject matter expertise and guidance, generate original training content, and drive the successful launch of training programs that will prepare the next generation of O&M technicians.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Carry out the vision for this training program in alignment with the SEIA 301 ANSI standard
  • Conduct regular curriculum team meetings and maintain a steady production schedule
  • Help craft a vision for the future of O&M training for the member-companies of AOMC

 Program Development & Management

  • Center the training around the needs of our audience: O&M field technicians, from entry level tech 1 to advanced level 4
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Coordinate with curriculum content developers, instructional designers, and fellow subject matter experts to create engaging, interactive online training material
  • Create content for the training program (writing storyboards, quiz questions, knowledge checks, etc.)
  • Develop both online and field training materials

Technical Subject Matter Expert

  • Ensure full compliance with SEIA 301 ANSI Standard requirements and industry best practices
  • Participate in monthly cooperative calls, help technicians in real time if possible, and address questions on the company intranet (Podio)
  • Monitor online discussion boards and answer trainee questions
  • Design and deliver in-person technical training for O&M techs

 Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent hands-on experience in a field role in the solar PV and BESS industry, preferably training others in O&M
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar PV and BESS systems, O&M practices, and industry codes and standards
  • Project Management: Track record of managing projects to completion
  • Leadership: Experience leading teams and managing workers
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present to diverse audiences 

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Google suite, MS Office, video editing software (we use Descript)
  • Strong analytical skills for program evaluation and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with compliance and accreditation processes 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Employment Type: Full-time W2 position (though we’re open to discussion if you would prefer a different paradigm)
  • Location: Remote (must be based in the U.S.)
  • Travel: Occasional travel for stakeholder meetings and in-person trainings (10-15%)
  • Salary: $80,000-$95,000 annually, based on experience
  • Benefits: Health insurance stipend, retirement plan matching (starting 2026), flexible work schedule, and generous Paid Time Off
