Amicus O&M Cooperative is a community of solar operations and maintenance (O&M) providers across North America. Through a set of tools/templates/software, extensive knowledge sharing, and a training program for O&M professionals, the cooperative supports its member companies in offering safe, efficient, standardized services. The cooperative itself does not perform O&M work; rather, it supports the member-companies and the member-companies work directly with clients. 

Position Overview – Moodle Expert Developer for Adult Continuing Education 

AOMC is building a new online course in Moodle Workplace for technicians that perform the long-term O&M of solar photovoltaic (solar PV) and battery systems. We are looking for someone with expertise in Moodle Workplace development to join the team as we deliver a newly expanded series to our cooperative. 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), primarily Moodle Workplace
  • Moodle Educator Certification
  • Experience with the current and previous versions of Moodle Workplace 
  • Evaluate & determine appropriate method(s) for integrating curriculum lessons from another LMS platform with grant partner
  • 3-5 years experience developing new courses in Moodle Workplace
  • Experience with tenant admin sites in Moodle Workplace
  • Ability to facilitate group consensus in a remote environment 
  • Ideally available 12-16 hours per week in a contractor role 

Scope of Work

  1. Create engaging content in Moodle Workplace, working with subject matter experts and instructional designers to choose the best format and delivery
  2. Add new and existing content and learning objects into the course
  3. Build quizzes, grading, and reporting functionality
  4. Test site functionality
  5. Assist with development and administration of tenant admin sites
  6. Configure system settings, permissions, and roles to meet AOMC requirements
  7. Collaborate with instructional designers and subject matter experts to integrate, organize, and maintain content within Moodle course(s)
  8. Create documentation and tutorials to assist users in navigating the course effectively
  9. Regularly evaluate and maintain course links, quizzes, reports, tenant admin spaces
  10. Time efficiency: consistently deliver high-quality content that meets set criteria and is on time to support our program launch roadmap and deliverables schedule
  11. Ability to iterate on deliverables based on user and subject matter expert feedback

Compensation 

  • 1099 Contractor position 
  • US Citizenship required. May be located anywhere in the U.S. 
  • Travel expectation: none
  • Average expected hours: 12 hr/week 
  • Compensation: $50-60/hr based on experience
