Solar Recycle

Solar Recycle

SolarRecycle.org was born out of a recognition that the industry lacks accessible information on recycling processes, standards, and commercial vendors. The goal of the website is to promote alternatives to landfilling by enabling engagement with vendors who facilitate resale, donation, and recycling for solar equipment in pursuit of a circular economy for the solar industry. To do this, they aggregate and centralize information to educate stakeholders about current end-use options. Learn more

Initiatives

Safety

O&M work can be dangerous, with technicians often working inside energized equipment to perform necessary tests and inspections. We care deeply about our technicians and frequently discuss how to keep our safety cultures alive and fresh.

Amicus Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Work

With the solar industry poised for rapid growth in the coming years, we see tremendous opportunity to increase justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in the workforce. We strive to practice this with individual growth and study, by increasing JEDI awareness and action in our companies, and through collective action across both Amicus O&M and Amicus Solar cooperatives. We hold monthly discussions on JEDI-related topics, which are open to all employees of the combined cooperatives’ 85+ member companies. Since 2020, we have hosted regular meetings for companies to learn from each other’s JEDI initiatives. We have a committee for HR professionals to share best practices and discuss compassionate solutions to the issues that HR leads often face. This committee has offered resources to the other member-companies to help them draft diversity statements, improve job postings with inclusive language, and draft policies on matters from accommodations to workforce development.
